The European Commission has published the LIFE 2026 Calls for proposals, making €601.5 million available to support projects dedicated to the green transition and Europe's sustainable competitiveness. The calls represent one of the main European tools for financing initiatives on the environment, climate and energy.

Areas of intervention

The calls cover four strategic areas:

  • Nature and biodiversity

  • Circular economy and quality of life

  • Climate change mitigation and adaptation

  • Clean energy transition

The aim is to support innovative and demonstration projects capable of generating concrete and scalable impact in European territories. Who can participate?

  • businesses (including SMEs and startups)

  • Public bodies and local authorities

  • Universities and research centers

  • Non-profit organizations and public-private partnerships

Proposals can be submitted by individuals or in partnerships, provided that they are legal entities established in the EU or in countries associated to the program. Sustainagro will be convening consortia around the priority topics.
