The EU Agri-Hackathon 2026 will run fully online over 48 hours in October 2026. Teams will have access to real agricultural datasets, expert mentors, and a dedicated digital platform. No physical travel is required for the event itself. Each participating team must have between 3 - 4 members. Teams should ideally be multidisciplinary — combining different backgrounds and expertise across the focus areas.

The challenges
Participants' valuable skills are needed to contribute to a more sustainable, resilient and innovative agricultural sector in Europe. All three challenges share one ambition: simplification. EU farmers today face growing complexity, in administrative obligations, in the data their operations generate, and in the information demands placed on them across the food chain. This is an opportunity to build digital solutions that cut through that complexity and give farmers back time, clarity and control.
Challenge #1: Less time on forms, more time on farms
Goal: help farmers save time and improve efficiency.
How? Be the one developing the right digital tools by transforming manual administrative tasks into simplified and automated reporting systems, reducing the bureaucratic burden.
Challenge #2: Connect data for smarter fields
Goal: help farmers simplify how they manage and use the data their farm generates.
How? Build solutions that help farmers deal with the flood of data generated by sensors, connected machines and digital devices on their farm and turn it into clear, actionable information for everyday decisions.
Challenge #3: Flowing data, empowered collaboration
Goal: help farmers simplify how they share information and engage with value chain partners.
How? Develop solutions that streamline the flow of information between farmers and their value chain partners, reducing the reporting burden, ensuring farmers retain control of their data, and strengthening their position across the food chain.
